Creative Strategy

I have worked in many channels and have developed identities, product and brand positions that were executed across multiple channels. Key to those successes is my ability to devise a solid communications strategy that is applicable regardless of medium.

I bring a wealth of experience that can be directly applied to a senior-level creative position, such as the use of keywords to ensure that copy and imagery aligns tightly to strategy. The use of keywords hones my ability to create information architecture taxonomies that lead to a more positive user experience.

Brand Development and Stewardship

Having worked with so many brands, both small and large, I have developed a keen sense of what makes a brand work and how diligently it must be supported, defended and nurtured.

Bringing that knowledge to bear helps me to create or direct collateral that stays on message regardless of the medium.

Content Development

As an Art Director and a freelancer, I have happily developed content for a variety of projects. My understanding of audiences, brands and having worked with many business verticals affords me the ability to develop clear copy for print or web.

An educator since 2006, I have taught adults digital strategies and ways to present a web presence that resonates with the user and amplifies the message delivered in other channels.

I encourage my students to answer their own questions and challenge themselves. I employ the same method with my team members, guiding growth and engaging in dialogue that deepens understanding on both sides of the conversation.

Entrepreneurial Sprit + Innovation

In my tenure as an Art Director at Enterprise Creative Solutions, I have designed and executed three rewards portals and improved the user experience with a Flash-based marketing zone so that the enterprise can deepen relationships through profile-based messaging.

As a creative professional aligned against small business clients, I am constantly looking for innovative and budget-conscious ways for them to define and market their brands.

As a freelancer, I have needed to maintain my skills in a variety of media to bring cost-effective solutions to my clients. At Bank of America, I deepened my understanding of digital channels and how they influence more traditional ones. I pride myself on being able to produce synergy between media for more resonant messaging.

I excel at digital design,wireframing and prototyping, , email design/development, front-end web development, OOH and printed collateral of all types.

Marketing Insight

I understand and teach the link between marketing/business objectives and their resultant visual representation. I know that every stroke, every pixel is designed to serve a role in meeting the marketing objectives of the project. Couple that with an understanding of demographics, behavior, psychographics and personas, I develop creative products that speak to their audiences in a language to which they respond.

Information Architecture + Usability

Bringing a great design to market takes more than just balance, contrast and proportion. Those elements of design must be used to guide the user to their desired task. Developing content and the taxonomies that group them along with a visual structure that both comforts and motivates the user are among the many skills I bring to the table.
